Another week gone bye, and it seems Summer has all but departed and Autumn is here to stay. We are looking forward to a relaxing time with family and friends this weekend. Then we can shake off the laziness of the dog days and get back to hustling before winter arrives. As you get ready to make a push into the end of the year its a good time to refresh your company’s business cards and stationery, as well as consider ways to draw in new customers such as a postcard campaign or newsletter. With that in mind here are a few links for this week.

First we were interested to read this week that the ITC handwriting font Weber Hand was expanding to include a bold and condensed weight, but we were more interested to learn that the fonts had been designed by local Bucks County artist and musician Lisa Weber. Exciting stuff! Link

More on Fonts

Here is a great post from small business and marketing guru Seth Godin on the importance of giving careful consideration to how type represents your business. At cutpasteandprint this is an issue we feel is very important and totally agree with Mr. Godin’s sentiments. Link

Sticking with fonts as a theme this week, in the realm of design inspiration, we found this great collection of alphabets via brand and packaging designer Reuben Miller’s site. Link

Locally

This weekend, of course we imagine there will be a lot of families getting together to celebrate, but there are also a ton of activities going on. And after last weekend’s washout its definitely time to get out and enjoy!   First off it is First Friday today, so thats always a chance to get out and see some art in Philadelphia. Link

Elsewhere this weekend, at the Pennsbury Manor there are live demonstrations of historic trades and craftsmen to experience and enjoy. Link

And of course  there are all kinds of other events up all around the area. However you choose to celebrate, we hope you have a great weekend. Happy Labor Day!
